    --------
    New Mailing List Software
    -------------------------
As you may have all noticed, during the system upgrades we switched from
majordomo to Mailman. This performs far better and allows easier user
configuration. The cosm-dev list has also been converted over.

    Folding@home and the Mithral CS-SDK
    -----------------------------------
The Folding@home project has been running for over a year now using the
Mithral CS-SDK for a protein-folding project. You can visit their site
http://foldingathome.stanford.edu/ and download the client software. The new
2.0 version is currently being tested and should be out soon. Mithral has
been working closely with the Stanford crew to get the project going. We are
actually in need of a couple Win32 guru types to help out and put in some
real work before launch so if you are interested, let us know.

    Code Development
    ----------------
Development continues with the CPU/OS and Utility layers, as well as the
other software in the Cosm Project. The next major pieces will be the
security infrastructure and the distributed file system (which people keep
reminding me they are waiting for). There is always plenty on the to-do list
for talented programmers. Interested developers should visit our Developers
Den at http://www.mithral.com/developers/ for more information.

    Dual License
    ------------
The Cosm Phase 1 License will soon be merged into the dual license. The dual
license is meant to apply to any product, code, music or a book, protecting
the creator while preserving fair-use and encouraging academic uses. If you
know of lawyers who can help squish closed even more loopholes, let us know.
A very short summary is at http://www.mithral.com/~beberg/license-grid.html

    Cosm Chat Room
    --------------
Anyone wanting to talk about Cosm can find us in channel #cosm on the Open
    Projects IRC network: http://www.openprojects.org/irc_servers.shtml
