Mithral Client-Server Software Development Kit Released
-------------------------------------------------------
The Mithral CS-SDK is now officially out.
Announcement:
http://www.mithral.com/pressroom/releases/20000921.html
Official CS-SDK page:
http://www.mithral.com/products/cs-sdk/
The Mithral CS-SDK is fully buzzword-compliant with "distributed
computing", "peer-to-peer", "file-sharing", and "cycle-sharing" -
meaning you can easily build any of those types of applications in a
weekend.
For developers the cs-sdk.html file in the cosm/v3/apps/cs-sdk/
directory (and on the CS-SDK web page) has everything you need to know
to get your project running. If you already have the CVS tree, just do a
`cvs up -z9`. If you don't, grab a snapshot of the CVS from
http://www.mithral.com/developers/ - the .tgz files are "CVS ready" so
you don't need to do a checkout.
Mithral CS-SDK in use
---------------------
The Folding@home project has been running for a couple months now using
the CS-SDK, for a protein folding project. You can visit them at
http://foldingathome.stanford.edu/ and download their client software.
Development
-----------
Development continues with the CPU/OS and Utility layers, as well as the
other software in the Cosm Project. Interested developers should visit
our Developers Den at http://www.mithral.com/developers/ for more
information.
